Inspired by: Neon highlights
If given a choice between something bright and something safe, I'll always choose the loudest. I love bright colours! Sure, neutral shades and trusty black and white have their place in everyone's wardrobes, homes and offices, but I would rather be holding a bright orange umbrella when it rains; turning heads in a bold coat amongst a sea of black and coming home to an inspiring pop of colour.
I'm on the hunt for affordable accessories to update my apartment and am feeling very inspired by pops of neon at the moment.

I would love a fluoro pink coffee table! As seen in... Marie Claire, Feb 12.
Why not brighten up with a neon door?

Start the week with a sale
Ah January, how I love you so. Great weather, lots of beach time, a fresh canvas for the year and lots of balmy summer evenings out with friends makes for a fancy free start to the year.
It's also a really great time to hit the shops. There's nothing more satisfying than scoring a piece you've had your eye on for ages but was perhaps too much of a stretch for the old budget, at more than 50 per cent off. Case in point: My new Wittner wedges, which I picked up for $59.95 yesterday.
There are plenty of bargains online right now - As seen in all your favourite mags!

In love with New Girl
I've had the biggest girl crush on Zooey Deschanel ever since Failure to Launch was released. But her dorkable new series New Girl has confirmed that she is definitely a girl I'd love to be best friends with!
Zooey plays the lead of the adorable, sing-out-loud, don't-give a-damn-about-what-anyone-thinks-of-me Jess, who finds herself a new home and three instant new best friends after catching her douchy boyfriend in the act with another girl.
I may have gotten a little excited and skipped ahead to watch the first nine episodes online. Yep, I am officially hooked.
Cute. Lovable. Hilarious! It's the perfect light-hearted show to wind down with.
Jess's style is a step away from my own personal style but I can't help loving the outfits she wears on the show. From cute '50s dresses to polka dot skirts and pussy-bow blouses, she's one headband away from a down-to-earth Blair Waldorf. Polished but not pretentious.
Photos from What Would Zooey Deschanel Wear? Check out their super cool New Girl section with links to buy exact matches and similar items as seen above.
Those who know of her indie duo She and Him will know the girl can sing, so it's no surprise to learn that Zooey wrote and lent her vocals to the theme song for the show. I dare you to not to get it stuck in your head. It's been a big week for Zooey with a nomination at the Golden Globes (did you see her awesome tuxedo mani?), her 32nd birthday (complete with a letter from Obama), an Allure cover, and New Girl about to burst onto Aussie screens this Sunday night.
Check out the teaser below...
Ah! I just love it!
